On Thursday ZTV will be broadcasting a live comedy show from Daum Theater in Kolbe Hall. The show will feature ZTV's own comedy team the Akron After Hours. The show is free to all University of Akron students and doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the show at 6:00 p.

The University of Akron, in its continued purchase of property inside the InfoCision Stadium footprint, paid $110,000 for a house which sold for only $77,000 the previous year.

Life as a news editor at The Buchtelite has been just that. However, I do not wish to trade any of the numerous hours I have sacrificed to a story or investigation for anything.

New editor named

As Buchtelite editor in chief Adam Ferrise steps down at the end of this year, Arts and Life editor Dillon Deshong will step up to the challenge and try to fill some big shoes.

Incoming editor Deshong said he is excited about this new opportunity.

"This is a huge step in my life as a communication major and I am honored to be named editor," Deshong said.

Gas prices won't see reduction for a long time

Yesterday afternoon I received a text message that simply stated "Do not get gas on Friday May 2. This is an attempt to have a strike against the oil companies and get our gas price lowered. Send to everyone in your phone." Well, haven't we tried this a few times and it didn't work? It didn't work for us and it didn't work for the truck drivers.

If the University of Akron wanted to make students happy, there is a simple solution. This applies to everyone on campus, guaranteed.

Don't have final exams on the Friday of finals week. Students dread nothing more than if their first two exams are on Monday and Tuesday and then they have to wait until Friday to take their last one.

The long journey of breaking down the sports world comes to an end today.

Rather than leaving you with a sappy, I'll miss writing in this space every Thursday farewell column, I find it better to recap the breakdowns that have been printed here over the past nine months and to take a look into the future of the sports world, for which I have rambled about extensively.

As final's week approaches students at the University of Akron were given an early study break in the form of Colbie Caillat.

Caillat played to a sold out E.J. Thomas Hall Tuesday night along with opening act Jason Reeves.

Iowa City native, Reeves seems like a cross between John Mayer and Jason Mraz with his catchy beats and honest lyrics.
