The Buchtelite is a designated public forum, free from censorship. It’s mission is to provide a venue for public expression that informs, educates and entertains the University of Akron’s students, faculty, staff and community.
As the independent student voice of the University of Akron and a designated public forum, the Buchtelite is dedicated to the accurate presentation of the news to its community.
The Buchtelite is further dedicated to reporting news about, and of interest to, the campus community. The Buchtelite serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas and opinions amongst the campus community.
To this end, The Buchtelite must operate without undue influence or control by any college or department.
News tips, submissions and employment applications from individuals, departments and organizations within the University are welcomed. Campus, community or national events and issues affecting the lives of the UA community should be prominent in the paper.
Corrections and Retractions When an error occurs in the Buchtelite the correction shall be published in the first issue after the error is discovered. The correction shall be printed in a consistent and prominent place.
