Why is it that more and more women in the media are often becoming and embracing the idiot-piece-of-meat role? I'm sorry, but I find that unacceptable. If that's what a particular artist wants for their life, fine, but don't influence young impressionable minds.
Ineffable. That is the one word that perfectly describes the band Brand New and the performance they gave at Newport Music Hall Wednesday. This foursome, who was founded by the lyrical mastermind and lead singer Jesse Lacey, has been roaming the earth as Brand New for eight years.
Believe it or not indie/folk fans Devendra Banhart and drummer Greg Rogove of Priestbird have come together in a sideproject they've christened Megapuss. Uncanny artist of freak folk Devendra Banhart, and psychedelic drummer Greg Rogove, originally were joking about their collaboration as Megapuss, but they've just released their debut album Surfing on iTunes earlier this month.
