Board passes tuition rates

University of Akron undergraduate students have a reason to rejoice: tuition is not being raised. The board of trustees approved the tuition rates for the 2009-2010 academic year Wednesday afternoon. Graduate and law school students however, will feel the pinch of an increase.

Fiji hosts May day alternative

Phi Gamma Delta and Campus Focus will be holding their annual Spico de Mayo on Friday, May 1. The event is held as a May day alternative and promotes sober fun. May day traditionally marks the end of school and the beginning of spring. Consequently, it is notorious for drunken college students and busy police officers and university officials.

Former press secretary talks politics and Obama

Being the presidential press secretary requires one to handle extreme criticism while keeping a sense of humor. Dee Dee Myers, former Press Secretary to Bill Clinton certainly knows the meaning of this. Myers, this year's John S. Knight lecturer, spoke to a crowd of students and community members about her time at the White House and her views on the political system today.

End of semester celebration held Thursday

The Zips Programming Network will hold the End of the Semester Celebration on Thursday April 30. The event will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. outside of Sisler-McFawn Residence Hall. If it rains, the event will be moved onto the blue courts inside of the Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Last week you got to read my walk down memory lane and my heartfelt congratulations to the University of Akron for giving me an unforgettable undergraduate experience. However, I barely talked about my experience at the Buchtelite-or my mixed emotions about leaving.

I can't believe I'm graduating

Now I'm about to walk across the stage of E.J. Thomas Hall and accept the greatest achievement I've earned thus far - a college degree.

The University of Akron has three places on campus where you will get the best bang for your buck and stop those stomach growls. The first campus restaurant is an all you can eat buffet bonanza with food variety for miles.
