The University of Akron men's soccer team has had many heroes on their run to a perfect 20-0-0 season, but one has stood above the rest. In just his second full season at the collegiate level, sophomore forward Teal Bunbury led the Zips with 37 points, 42 shots on goal and 16 goals scored.
The University of Akron's men's soccer team received the overall number one seed in the NCAA tournament on Monday. With a (20-0-0) season, and the top RPI in the nation, Akron was a shoo-in for the number one seed. "Our players dug deep all year," UA head coach Caleb Porter said.
The women's basketball team will be on the road as they take on Robert Morris this Thursday and Wright State on Sunday. This Thursday, Nov. 19, the Zips will hit the road and go to Pennsylvania to take on the Robert Morris Colonials (0-1). The Colonials are coming off a loss from last Friday.
The Zips rifle team visited the Virginia Military Institute on Saturday, Nov. 14. The Zips defeated the Keydets 4553-4196 at Kilbourne Hall. In the smallbore rifle event, the Zips took the top three spots. Sophomore Sarah Benjamin took first place for the Zips with a score of 567.
