Following a bounce back win against Northern Illinois, the University of Akron's men's basketball team continued their winning ways against Ball State Feb. 6. The Zips (17-7 7-3 MAC) could not get it done in regulation, but instead knocked off the Cardinals (12-10 6-4 MAC) 75-70 in overtime.
The Zips women's basketball team (14-9) kept things rolling this past weekend to extend its five game win streak, the longest in school history. The Zips played the Central Michigan Chippewas Feb. 4 and finished with a 62-55 win. "Our goal today was to keep them [Chippewas)]under 60 points today and we [Zips] knew that we needed to do that to win the game," Zips head coach Jodi Kest said.
